What a weekend.
Saturday was great. A lovely sunny day. Husband voted (congrats Kevin), bought Isaac's birthday/Christmas present (probably the last year we can combine his present in good conscious), walked around Northcote, then I went out to a Thanksgiving feast held by a friend that was a good time.
I also finished this: Bunny Love!
This little fella was made for a one year old friend of ours, Daniel. I spun Polworth wool into a fairly uneven bulky yarn. I dyed it after the yarn was finished using a method from the Twisted Sisters sock book. I can't remember what the method was called; I think it was the cold pour. Really easy. Bunny was knitted up and then fulled. I have to say, there is a real charm in knitting simple little things like this, especially for children.
Plus, I am finding these smaller projects are such a great way to experiment. I've made two of these rabbits so far for small people, and each one helped me learn something without the time spent on a grander project.
I am also thinking about what to do with all this: OP SHOP YARN!!!
What's better, it is all lambswool. The photo does this stuff poor justice. The tan looking ones to the right are beautiful shades of camel, and the purple is really a dusky lilac. The green cone in the back is called "American Blue" according to the cone, which is a dark green with a blue ply.
Anyway, I think all of this cost me five dollars, and I do believe quite a few pairs of socks and maybe a jaunty hat will be it's fate.
Sunday pretty much sucked. Isaac was teething, husband and I had a fight (a really small one but we don't really fight so it made us all grumpy and sulky), and I felt blectchy all day.
Ended the day reading Vineland by Thomas Pynchon, which made me feel better. It's the first book I've really enjoyed in months, which has more to do with my brain than the books.
